#ith referance to your letter No.13 of the 13th instant,
I have the honour to inform your that,
(4) The charge for a single stang, face value 25 centimes, is 9 cents,
at the French Post Office: and for one face value 20 pfennige, the charge
∙isceats at the German Post Office. These stangs are the equivalents.
of the dongkong 10 cent, stamp.
(0) At the french rost Jffice the stamps are at present sold at the
rate of 3 francs: worth to the dolier, and the number of stamps may vary with the fluctuations of exchange. At the German rost.ffice the stamps are sold at the rate of 2.50 marks, aorth to the dollar, and the rate
does not. vary."
(8) At. the dussian Past Vffice the charge for 10 copeck stamp (equiva-
-lent. to 35 centimes or dongkong 10 cents) is 3 cents: at. the vapanese
Post Office the stamps are sold at the face value; at the American rost
Office united States postage is sold for gold at the Government rate of exchange anion changes every 3 months, out as a rule one 5 cent. stamp
is sold for 10 cents mexican. At these rost uffices the rate per single
stamp applies to any number of stamps' sold at one time.
